Release: Comptroller Henry Announces New Enforcement for the 1% for Art Program

April 20, 2021

The Comptroller's Office announced new enforcement measures to support the implementation of Baltimore City's 1% for Art Program. This new process is part of an effort from the Comptroller's Office to encourage more transparency in City spending. Enforcement will begin this spring as the Comptroller's Office works with BOPA and City agencies to identify projects.

Release: Comptroller Henry Releases 2021 Audit Plan

The Biennial Audits Oversight Commission (BAOC) meeting the City Auditor, Josh Pasch, in coordination with Comptroller Bill Henry released the Department's 2021 Biennial Audit plan. The Biennial Audits Oversight Commission approved the plan by a vote in early January.

Release: Comptroller Henry Hires Andy Frank as Deputy Director of Real Estate

Comptroller Bill Henry is hiring Andy Frank, a former Deputy Mayor and executive vice president for the Baltimore Development Corporation, as his Deputy Director of the Department of Real Estate. As Deputy Director of Real Estate, Frank will work with Real Estate Director Walter Horton on managing the City’s real estate assets that include municipal buildings, surplus schools, and tax sale properties.

Release: Board of Estimates Approves Abstention Policy; Notes MOED Audit

This morning, Baltimore City's Board of Estimates approved a formal policy for Board members to abstain from ethical conflicts. The policy, proposed by Comptroller Bill Henry, outlines a process for members to inform the Comptroller's office prior to the BOE meeting of any items they have to abstain from on the agenda. Members of the public will be able to review all abstentions and pertinent explanations on the Comptroller's website.
