Release: Acting Solicitor Shea's Travel Guidance to Comptroller Henry

Baltimore, MD - Statement from Comptroller Henry:

“As I suspected, the formal opinion from the Law Department is that the Administrative Manual is unclear, which has led to disparate guidance, compliance, and enforcement over the years. I look forward to the City Administrator’s review of the travel policies for elected officials and welcome any scrutiny on the process.

Frankly, the Administrative Manual could use a complete overhaul. My office has been working on revising specific policies under our authority and to bring to the Board of Estimates in March for approval. I hope other agencies to follow suit.”
